Overview

Game Design is a design specialisation that requires aspirants to create games for laptops, PCs, mobiles as well as tablets. A sub-set of the field of video game development, Game Design requires the designer to apply design elements, design aesthetics as well as programming principles to provide users with an interactive gaming environment. To create a game, designers need to visualise characters, creatures as well as backdrops in order to have an engaging game in place.

Game Design creates rules, goals and challenges to define a board game, dice game, card game, video game, role-playing game, casino game, sport, war game or simulation that produces desirable interactions among its participants and spectators.

India is fast becoming a hot destination for the international gaming industry. This is being attributed to the rising income levels as well as growing internet penetration which is helping in giving a push to the Indian gaming industry. As per statistics the Indian gaming industry is expected to earn a whooping $801 million in sales by 2022.
